Maya Arad Yasur (1976) is an Israeli playwright and dramaturge. She
holds a Master’s degree in Dramaturgy from the University of Amsterdam
where she graduated with distinction. Maya Arad Yasur has been working
as a production dramaturge in the Netherlands and in Israel,
specializing in devised theatre and documentary theatre. As a playwright
her interest lies in issues of identity, exile and war through the
dissection of narrative mechanisms. Her plays have been staged and
publicly read in various theatres in Israel, Germany, Austria, Norway
and the U.S. and were published in leading theatre magazines in Germany,
Poland and Israel. She won the Habima (Israel's National Theatre) prize
for emerging artists for her play God Waits at the Station (2015) and
the 1st prize for playwriting of the International Theatre Institute for
her play Suspended (2011). Her play Amsterdam is the winner of the
Berliner Theatertreffen Stückemarkt 2018.
