Lucius Romeo-Fromm

Lucius Romeo-Fromm is a performer, choreographer, and assistant director. He currently collaborates with director Luanda Casella and NTGent, where he works across performance, choreography, and artistic development.

Originally trained in classical ballet, Romeo-Fromm expanded his dance practice in late-1980s New York to experimental and contemporary dance forms. During this period, he became involved with the European cultural scene through improvisation projects at The Kitchen and through Patrick De Geetere’s Les Contaminations, a documentary tribute to Andy Warhol presented at Centre Pompidou. After settling in Belgium in the early 1990s, he developed a wide-ranging career that spans theatre, dance, opera, cabaret, television, and nightlife culture.

In recent years, he has worked extensively with Lisbeth Gruwez and Voetvolk, as well as with Luanda Casella. In 2024, he appeared in Elektra Unbound by Luanda Casella and NTGent, a production presented at the Venice Biennale. For this role, he was nominated by the TheatreFestival in the category Most Valued Acting Performance 35+.
