Haider Al Timimi
Haider Al Timimi (1979, Baghdad) works across theatre, dance, and performance. Born in Baghdad and raised in Ghent, he began his artistic journey in breakdance and hip-hop culture. He worked as a dancer and choreographer with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen and Rosas, and as an actor and performer with companies including Union Suspecte, Compagnie Cecilia, KVS, STAN, Walpurgis, and BRONKS. Within Union Suspecte, he developed his first original work. In 2012, he co-founded the theatre company Kloppend Hert. Later, he also co-established artistic initiatives, including TransfoCollect (Brussels), Jong Gewei (Ghent) and Magma (Kortrijk). Since 2020, Haider is the artistic director of Antigone. Outside of Antigone, Haider also remains active as a performer and dancer.
